Today is the feastday of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, an American saint who is credited with founding America's parochial schools. I have always been partial to her title Mother Seton as she was a widow with children, a convert, and subsequently a teacher who became a mother to countless others. Let us spend a few wee moments thinking on her dedication and sacrifices to serve our Lord. Mother Seton loved the Bible and loved simplicity: it is my own opinion that she too, was a Plain Catholic.

I was interested in your article about Elizabeth Ann Seton because one of the Catholic churches in Fort Collins, CO, where I work, is named after her. I always wondered about her.
