Bee Renewed

Our new bee queens will be arriving soon. Every so often the queen will weaken and need to be replaced for the continued health and productivity of the hive. And so tis with all things in life: we need to renew ourselves in our spiritual walk to maintain the health of our growth and productivity for the Lord.

The bee hives have always reminded me of Benedictine monasteries. Each bee has it's designated task and the goal is the ultimate health and productivity of the whole hive; and so tis with monastics who work together in humility and harmony to accomplish the Opus Dei...the Work of God... be it the Liturgy of the Hours, the apostolate, or the simple cleaning of a room and preparation of a meal.

Without renewal there is no growth; with no growth there is stagnation. Without renewal stagnation always, always leads to death , be it the death of a hive, a monastic community, or our own spiritual lives.
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. Romans 12:2
That's me away then.
