Obstacles or Opportunities?

The latest bit of news about soaring oil prices brings with it fresh whinging from those who see only a half empty glass. Yet too often we forget the best part of ourselves; those skills, creativity and intellect given us by God who challenges His children to grow.

Rather than seeing an obstacle, tis new opportunity we are facing. Instead of depending on oil, we can now rise to the challenge and create new sources of energy. Some of these sources are quite old in concept but new materials make them once again viable. Windmills that are light enough to spin from thermal convections off hot summer pavements; bicycle-powered washers that let us get a workout and clean laundry in one go; raising fresh fruit and veg on our own ground rather than buying the tasteless offerings that have been trucked hundreds of miles.

So let us turn off our whinings and turn on our brains. We may just surprise ourselves.
That's me away.

Amen! When life hands you lemons make lemonade! Greensburg Kansas which was nearly destroyed by a tornado is rebuilding and going green as they say. They will have a windfarm and just all sort of alternative ways of doing things!

Another opportunity I saw yesterday is this thing called Hyperdriving, where one drives with total conservation in mind, coasting when possible, not reving the engine, accelerating more evenly, and leaving more space between vehicles to allow more even breaking. Essentially, using your head not your emotions to drive.....might get road rage under control!?? You think?
HUGS!

I agree. For nearly 30 years we have tried to live less dependant on purchased goods and more on growing our own food, living with less and enjoying every single moment of it

Matthew 5:16 So let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
