"The 'world' is a mentality, a manner of thinking and living that can pollute even the church, and in fact does pollute it, and therefore requires constant vigilance and purification," the pope said. I have always admired Pope Benedict XVI — the only Pope I have known as a new Catholic. But since Lent and Easter I have wanted to read more of this extensive writings. I feel this as an urgently required task that I cannot delay.
He is so very right! Some churches seem no different than the world outside the doors.
