Thank you to Dawn and Coffee Catholic for such a warm welcome! There are many Plain Catholics who seek to live a life of simplicity and modesty. As Coffee Catholic's husband noted, tis a natural for a faith that has monasteries who live separate from the world and practice stewardship of the land. There are lay people who, as Plain Catholics, also seek this life of simplicity to focus upon glorifying Jesus in their lives.
Our Lady of the Rock is one such monastery of Benedictine nuns. They raise rare breeds such as Scottish Highland and Kerry cattle, Cotswold sheep, llamas and others. Stewardship of the land is part and parcel of their vocation. Hope you enjoy this link!
That's me away then. I have the supper to make and the husband to feed.

But I feel the greatest destroyer of peace today is abortion, because it is a direct war, a direct killing, direct murder by the mother herself."

I found your blog thru' Coffee Catholic. I admire those who feel the conviction to live such a beautiful life, tho' I don't feel God calling me to one (at least not at this time!). I look forward to hearing more from you, please keep posting!
God Bless!
I spent a month visiting Our Lady of the Rock in the summers of 2002 and 2003. They are an AMAZING group of nuns! If you ever get a chance to visit their monastery you won't be sorry!
