He Ain't Heavy...

Full up with feast and waddling  through the washing, tis glad that Thanksgiving holiday is done. Sunday was the first Sunday of Advent and the Prophet candle was lit. Scripture readings from the prophets who foretold the birth of Our Savior were part of the Mass today and Father had on his indigo chasuble. So now we await the Holy Day that remembers the birth of Our Savior; like an expectant mother, we watch and pray for the Child who is the Son of God.

Our wood stove burns warmly and the winter stews simmer fragrantly; the biscuits and the breads send delicious smells throughout the house. We are expecting snow tomorrow and while we never get very much of it, we always enjoy what we receive. The sweet hush that falls over the woods and the farm is akin to being in a church...alone.

We did not have many tourists at Mass this weekend. Sometimes we have quite an overflow of tourists who come on holiday. May God bless them safe travels as they return to their homes and beds.
That's me away

I love the quiet hush when there is snow on the ground - enjoy the peace!

it is indeed a blessing to have a spot on this earth that feels akin to being in church.
