Living our faith in plain and humble service to Jesus, Our Lord and Savior ... ORA ET LABORA +++ Sentire cum Ecclesia (to think and to feel with the Church)
Rejoice in hope; endure in affliction; persevere in prayer. Romans 12:12
Prayer joined to sacrifice constitutes the most powerful force in human history.
St. John Paul II
I have a mustard seed; and I am not afraid to use it. (Habeo granum sinapis quod uti non timeo)
Pope Benedict XVI
But I feel the greatest destroyer of peace today is abortion, because it is a direct war, a direct killing, direct murder by the mother herself."

Waiting.....
Tis Advent and we are watching, waiting for the birth of the Savior. We eat less, pray more and clean the house thoroughly in the anticipation of the Nativity. The coming Sunday is Gaudete Sunday: the Sunday we take a break from fasting and celebrate our faith in joy. It is the Sunday we light the pink candle and give thanks for our blessings from God.
The countryside is all brown and misty as the trees and the veg sleep until the warm weather awakens them. The bees hum in their hives staying warm and feasting on their honey. The kitchen smells of the ammonia from the scrub-down, the fire is crackling in the wood stove keeping us warm. The quilt I am stitching waits for me each evening, a prayer for the recipient goes into each stitch.
Watching and waiting. That's me away then.
