Rejoice in hope; endure in affliction; persevere in prayer. Romans 12:12
Prayer joined to sacrifice constitutes the most powerful force in human history.
St. John Paul II
I have a mustard seed; and I am not afraid to use it. (Habeo granum sinapis quod uti non timeo)
Pope Benedict XVI
But I feel the greatest destroyer of peace today is abortion, because it is a direct war, a direct killing, direct murder by the mother herself."

Personal Responsibility vs "Big Brother"
As Americans, we have become accustomed to "having a big brother" in our government. Many have become dependent upon the government to monitor food production, safety, education, etc. In recent years we have become painfully aware that big brother is inadequate to the task. We must exercise personal responsibility in our choices and make informed decisions.
Tis a temptation for those who have been dependent to try to find a replacement Big Brother. Whether tis a doctor, an organization, a "spiritual group", or some other entity, the temptation is to once again find oneself following blindly to avoid having to make one's own decisions. Cults come in all shapes and sizes and no cult that excludes Free Will is good for us. The Catholic Faith recognizes this too.
God gave us Free Will and with that He gave us responsibility to use our intellects and the promptings of the Holy Spirit to make good choices in all aspects of our lives. The Church has nearly 2000 years of discernment and scholarship to parse the various aspects of the Faith and we are to learn from those efforts as well as grow in our own spiritual walk by daily walks in Scripture and Catechism. It is good to have guidance. It is good to have Faith. It is never healthy to stop making conscious decisions in any aspect of our lives.
Let us sharpen our Free Will then and make our own decisions. We shall pray that Christ is our first and foremost decision in each and every hour.
That's me away then.
