Sacrifices and Tears

We have been praying ardently for the people of Japan and of Christchurch NZ. Our tears and prayers are offered up for them as Lenten sacrifice. Obligations at home restrain us from going to help and so we give money to the Catholic emergency relief organizations.

On Ash Wednesday, we observed a pleasant surprise. Half of the women at Mass were wearing head coverings such as mantillas, veils, and modest hats. Previously only 5 to 10% of the women wore a head covering to Mass at the parish. God bless them with the courage to continue.

May all remember those who suffer this Lent and bless them with prayers and material assistance.
That's me away.

It's so encouraging to see fellow Catholic women choosing to cover. It inspires me to do what I believe is right.

How awesome so many were covering. As I am the only one who covers at my church and with no tradition of it there, I fear I will always be the only one to do so. But God still does miracles!

What a pleasant surprise to find your blog. I'm a new follower from Catholic Mothers Online. Please stop by and return the favor.

We are fortunate to attend the TLM where all the women wear head coverings.

Thank you for your blog. My husband found this link after reading an article on CatholicKnight.com and reading on Catholic communities. Our family has been leading toward simplicity and surviving and it has been hard to find others like us especially whom are Catholic! Praise God We have embraced wearing veils since January. As protestant for over 20 years God convicted our hearts to come home and we joined The Church in April 2003. I'll make this short, we need to plant a garden, we have some seeds, but need to purchase some more and need advice on what to get. We have heard of purchasing seed banks and heirloom seeds. Any suggestions please advise. Also, we are interested in Catholic communities, any help or information that can be provided to us here in Washington state we would GREATLY welcome it. In Christ, Zambia
