Flavor of the Moment

It must be another slow news week. Of a sudden the Plain Catholic website has had approximately 1700 hits in just a few days. This in comparison to the 140 or so we receive in a week or more. We are as they say, the "flavor of the moment".

In one sense it is reassuring that disaster and tragedy are at a low ebb of public interest so that we are the most interesting thing going of the moment. People are at least curious about something other than scandal, murder, tragedy, war and political bickering.

In the other sense Plain Catholics do not seek the spotlight deliberately. We speak when necessary but all in all, we like the quiet life. We get enough excitement from bad weather, crazy traffic, family, jobs and parish life. Even a simple trip to Wally World becomes an adventure when the turistas are in town.

Are you Amish? Where's your buggy? Do you speak German? No.
Can you watch my little boy while I go get this item I forgot? It would be better if you take him with you.
Are you a nun? You know my sister was a real nun for awhile but she left....       
Tis enough excitement for us.

Here is a video of a young mom who also gets plenty of the curiosity attention. God bless her and her son abundantly. Truly they are strong in the Lord.
